Leeds Bradford International Airport

Following the acquisition of Leeds Bradford International Airport by a private equity group, the business identified key areas for improvement to achieve our 5 year strategic plan.

One of the key areas identified was a requirement to revise and update terms and conditions of employment and working practices inherited from our previous public sector ownership. We contacted Vital HR to support the management team in developing an employee relations strategy, which would allow us to negotiate the necessary changes to terms and conditions of employment with both the Trade Unions and all employees.

This involved planning and delivering the negotiation and communication strategy, participating in Trade Union negotiation meetings, running employee workshops and ensuring compliance at all times with UK employment legislation.

The outcome of the project was the successful introduction of revised contracts of employment in line with market rates. This included reduction in holiday entitlement, new salary rates and revised policy and procedures without industrial action.
